By the mid-1990s, Ckonjevic had enough business prospects to consider himself an expert, and took measures to establish himself as such in the eyes of the public. By 1997, he had earned accreditation as a Certified Business Continuity Professional and Fellow of the Business Continuity Institute from the Disaster Recovery Institute International, and from the Business Continuity Institute of London, respectively. Today he holds seats on the boards of both organizations, and volunteers as a teacher at BCI's New York branch. Also, about twice a year, he appears gratis as a speaker at industry conferences and conventions.
