Mia Wenjen, Publisher Mia Wenjen is the publisher of 1099 Magazine, which (among other things) means that she masterminds our advertising sales and circulation strategy. On a broader plane, Mia is developing the magazine's business model (it has to make money -- you don't fuel the car, you don't go nowhere) and helps the editorial team with business wisdom. She joined the team of the 1099 webzine to spearhead the launch of the print edition. Prior to that, she worked on various projects for Aquent (the talent agency that is 1099's parent company), such as experimenting with an online staffing agency for accountants (AquentDirect) and running Aquent's Boston office. A co-founder of Aquent, Mia graduated from Harvard with an A.B., cum laude, in History and Science, and has an M.B.A. from U.C.L.A's Anderson Graduate School of Management. |
